Reviews for "Protector IV"

Oh..

I thought this game would be more of an RPG or something like that. After all the tension before the actual game play. Either way, the game was good. Very nice 'optional' story line and good concept in my view. It was fairly addicting which i like. I thought that the character graphics in the game play would be a bit better. I'm slightly disappointed. Otherwise nice game.

good few probs tho

pros: different units per hero, lots of maps, RPG elements

cons: jones the explorer is a cunt you give him 1000 gold and he always brings you back shit items even when youve decked him out in all sorts of gear. the final upgrade in the middle tree is impossible to get or at least so far and iv been playing for 4 hours which leads to my point of higher level experience is too hard to get. o the ability scrolls are a ripoff. i got treasurer and it gives you 5 gold after every level? really? 5 gold? and it costs 1000? you think im gonna play over 200 games?
anyway griping aside i still enjoyed the game

i got bored quick

there was a nice variety of tactics and the leaders having different towers was pretty cool but i got bored with it after about 15 minutes and it seems like it takes forever to get some of the better gear in the game if i was playin xbox then sure but its a flash game im looking for something quick and entertaining

Good, but could be better

Definitely engaging as a tower defense/strategy game. However, at the point I'm at currently, the variety of things seems a bit superfluous. Equippable items always add a little extra something, but in the end simple stat changes aren't as exciting as different kinds of equippable weapons could be. The variety of mercenaries you could hire is likewise interesting, but also seems a bit unnecessary once you've accumulated mercenaries of all the different elemental types. There's a variety of enemies with different resistances... ...but again, this too seems like it could somehow be boosted. Perhaps the graphics of the actual gameplay sequences don't seem as sharp as all the menu and quest-choosing screens.
All in all, it's a good tower defense with some good points (I liked that the enemies cycled back to the beginning even after passing the end-point and taking off a life; in so many other tower defenses, I get so mad when I ALMOST kill a boss and they wander off-screen. Here, I've got the chance to finish 'em and make them run my gauntlet of towers again!), but for the amount of effort that's gone into it it seems like there could be something more to it.

Absolutely a certified hood classic.
