GOOD JOB DUSTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Response to NG Monthly Award Winners! Mar 9, 2005

So, to those people who won, what are you going to spend your winnings on?

Response to NG Monthly Award Winners! Mar 9, 2005

I knew this was going to happen. I don't understand how you can give the creator of Bunnykill 2 money. Is his movie well animated? Yes, but his idea is an obvious rip off of the Madness series. Why don't people just rip off the Brackenwood series, or the Decline of Video Gaming series and get rewarded? How would you feel if someone took Alien Hominid and just gave the alien a different head, and got paid for it?

Oh well, just my opinion.

It would take forever to clean it up so I was gonna wait and get a cleaner output later. But here is the top 30 because everyone wants it real bad. In the future, we could possibly change the front page archive to a top list, which includes the daily winners AND front page features and is ranked in order of votes. Who knows...

James is in Japan, eh? Cool. Lived there from 1988 to 1991. Haven't had a chance to go back and visit... but I'd love to (my town, Kobe, was hit by a huge earthquake in, I believe, 1994... so things are really different now, but still).

Magical Trevor 2, NG TT and Aggressive Alpine came SOOOO CLOSE:

Interactive Buddy v.1.01
Bunnykill 2
-Play-
Valentine's Day Special
X-Men:Dark Phoenix Rising

Ahh, the top 5. I was afraid Interactive Buddy would get 1st. I don't think it should have been off the top 5, necessarily... a lot of people obviously enjoy it. But to me, it's not substantial enough. A lot of people have fun with it and all, so okay. But I've played it twice for a total of maybe 15 minutes. To me, it's not as good a game as BumpCopter, Aggressive Alpine Skiing, Orbox, or The Bounce, to name but a few.

That said, the other 4 I've got no problem with. -Play- was certainly different and very creative. I didn't consider voting for it, though, but only because I had so many other things ahead of it, no problems with it in and of itself. Bunnykill 2 I did vote for. X-Men I did vote for. And I considered voting for VDay Special, too.

So, all told, I pegged 2 of the 5, and considered voting for up to 3 of the 5. Not too shabby, I suppose. Most people seem to have gotten either 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the top 5 in their own votes.

If you nailed all 5, then... perhaps you need to make sure your brain isn't controlled by a little antenna that the mass consciousness' will is being beamed to. #;-}>

NG TT Series Finale -A
Magical Trevor2
Aggressive Alpine Skiing

Here's my 3rd vote...

Artificial High 3
Bill Cosby Fun Game

Yay for Lokken!

Rebel Burger Ep.1
X-Men: Death Becomes Them
Viviparous Dumpling
FF: Mixed in Balamb2(1/3)
Proto
Slayer Episode VIII
Inner Demons
Bump Copter 2
Minushi - Chapter 9
team laser explosion 3
FF: Mixed in Balamb2(2/3)
TmsT's "Up Skit Creek"
The World of Abbreviation
Final Fantasy Day Care 1
Trapped 5
Fresh Aqua
-Obsolete-
Paper-Back Bust
The Bounce
rocketDRIVE

And my 4th vote was for The Bounce. #29 for that... #8 for AAS... and #s 2 and 5 for my two top 5 votes. I wonder where my 5th vote landed, because... it was Destination Mouth and it clearly didn't make the top 30. More on that after this:

At 3/8/05 02:11 AM, Mr_Gobi wrote: did anyone vote for Learning To Fly ? anyone ?

I certainly considered it! I think I had it in my rating file as a "probably." I enjoyed it a lot, man. One of my fave 80s Pink Floyd songs and you animated a good music video for it.

I voted for destination mouth!! WOOOT!! Haha.

So did I, like I just said! #;-}>

At 3/8/05 02:16 PM, Goatpower wrote: Whas I the only one who voted for 'Destination Mouth' or what?

Well, there was provoko, whose post you apparently missed. And then there was me. I loved Destination Mouth (and Mouths, for that matter, which was in some ways (besides the song used) better).

Don't believe me?

Oh well, just my opinion.

And it's a valid opinion, but... I don't think it's fair to characterise Bunnykill 2 as "just Madness with the head swapped for a bunnyhead."

First of all, Bunnykill (the original) was done in a very different manner. Much closer in to the action, Madness-ish with its swords and guns... but a very non-Madness setting. A lush forest... and IMO, unique ENOUGH. Original ENOUGH. To stand on its own.

Now, Bunnykill 2 DID take on more and more of the Madness style.

There's the kill counter.

There's the building setting.

There's the less-zoomed-in perspective. And how the camera stays on a room like in Madness. Etc. etc.

But... and this is a big but... Did the author actually RIP anything from a Madness .swf or .fla? No. They were INSPIRED by Madness. IMO, Bunnykill2 is a TRIBUTE to Madness.

Now, we won't know unless Krinkels says how he feels about this... but I would suspect that he feels flattered. I've seen MUCH lesser Madness-ish (often using the ACTUAL MADNESS BODIES) on the portal, and Bunnykill is thus the least of his "too much imitation" problems.

And come on, man. THEY'RE BUNNIES! It's genius. #;-}>

Do you mean ham, as in a live pig, which you may feast on its warm innards while playing a catchy tune from Boards of Canada? Or just regular run of the mill ham? :-P

I just happened to vote on those three in that same order. I forgot the other two I voted on though. We should get a prize if we vote on all five in the exact same order they win.

1. Interactive Buddy v.1.01
2. Bunnykill 2
3. -Play-
4. Valentine's Day Special
5. X-Men:Dark Phoenix Rising

If somebody just happened to vote for those exact movies in that exact order, they should get some experience points or something. Just a thought. I'm not making you do that or anything. But if you don't I'll fucking kill you. Twice. Then I'll tear off your head and shit down your neck and rape your fucking eye sockets.

Also, we award $100 each month to one of the users who has voted on NG submissions. For February, the cash goes to HeresyInc! It just happens he also submits. :)

Because we didn't have monthly awards back then.

Heart of gold that shock value has...

That's pretty cool shock, I'll be looking forward to it. Props on the ACS donation too, I'm astonished that you did that.
