That might be a tad hard to pull off when going for a regular IG regiment. I have some Elysians that I converted into 40k equivalents of Rainbow operatives but I keep them reserved for kill-team, Inquisitor or whenever we play Dark Heresy with minis instead of just pen and paper. The main snag would be that seeing as both Rainbow and SWAT are more of a para-military urban force they might not be as useful on the open battle field.

Ah great, just what we need!

Indeed, in Urban combat they would unleash carnage, but out their in the fields they would get butchered. They also need more Heavy Support, I mean come one at least the Elysians have drop pattern setinels.

Elysians are fully air mobile and this is reflected in their support: Vultures, Valkyries, drop sentinels designed for direct fire support and sentry guns.

What you could do is make your regimental design more of a specialized regiment of sorts, that stands out from the other more "regular" regiments hailing from your world. While these guys are the urban combat experts, the others could be a more general purpose standing army that has access to the regular support types.

I have like half a Tau army set up, but they are all missing pieces. I can't complain though I get it all for free from some kid who didn't want them anymore.

Yeah, I've actually been thinking on how to solve that issue with the urban combat specialization thing. I actually foresaw the problem from the beginning and decided I would explain it later on, but so far I can't think of anything. I might use Lt. Brookman's idea of that only one regiment being specialized in urban warfare.

An interesting turn of events.

In recent news the Tyranids have officially been chosen as the 4th race in DoW II. I was personally hoping for Guard, but oh well.

He wants you Jake. Now that he's passed "ownership" to you, you're expected to give him something in return; your body. Will you accept this great gift and let him indulge his homosexual fantasies? Or are you and the others going stop being stupid and realise there are no leaders or owners here?

eh? we already have guard, darkeldar, tau, and necrons..... nids are in dawn of war 2 your right about that though. i think your confusion came from the bad naming of the games. Dawn of war 2 is NOT the second dawn of war. Its the 5th with another new race, in this case the nids. Ive played the nid mod before and found it very fun so im lookin forward to this DOW.
It isnt on amazon though for pre-order though, the only place i've heard about it is on steam. Is it a steam exclusive game?

That is indeed the Emperor of Mankind, sitting Immortal upon His Golden Throne. Each day thousands of lives are sacrificed to maintain his, and each day his psychic Beacon guides Imperial vessels through the warp. He not appear strong or good, but doubt Him not. He is the Imperium, and the Imperium is him. So long as the Imperium is strong, so shall He remain strong; and so long as the Imperium is great, so shall He remain great. And fear not, for He shall rise again in Glory to lead Mankind and the Imperium to a final conquest of the Galaxy. But until that day, so shall He remain a husk of His true being, His potential. The Emperor Protects, the Emperor Provides. His soul remains strong even as his physical being is weak.

Thought for the day: Doubt begets heresy, heresy begets retribution. Expect the Inquisition.

: devArt :

The Emperor Protects.

Probably not, but his psychic power is so great he can flay you alive, burn your skin back on, flay you alive again then banish you to the Warp to be left to the ..... mercies if whatever resides there.

Long time no post here...

Anyway, I posted in this thread during the late summer this year, and I've finally decided that I'm gonna mainly gonna collect Tau Empire and Space Marines, so I'm thinking about getting Assault on Black Reach first.I'll probably trade the Orks or sell them in order to start a Tau army.

BTW, does anyone else think that it's too hard to start a game in the 1st trial game of Dawn of War? I've been playing it for some time, but I've only been successful in the tutorial. It seems that the Space Marines already have an army before you do.

Do you think they are going to make more units for the Tau Army? I'm happy with what they have available now, but it would be cool to see more new units. Are you allowed to combine different army types in your army? (Like, make a Tau Empire themed Dreadnought, etc.) I think that the Eldar could go really well with Tau, as they kinda have the same look as the Tau Empire.

Hello, is anybody here? :P

Could you combine different army types/make fusions for one single army? I was thinking that Tau Empire and Eldar would be great as one army together.

Hello everyone! I am new to Newgrounds (as you can probably tell) but 40K takes up a lot of my time :D I have far too many Space Marines for my own good, and a few Tyranids. My chapter is named The Tyrant Lords and It's 3rd Company was mutated by the Tyranids while fighting Hive Fleet Medusa (My Personal Hive Fleet), which led to a lot of oppurtunities for made-up units and conversions. :D As you can tell, 40K takes up far too much of my time.
