Reviews for "Orbital Decay"

Yeah not bad

Interesting new way of playing, but to be honest, I hated it
I couldn't concentrate on the story as i was trying to shoot something.
There were the enemy fighters which I could not hit! the bullets were to slow (fire rates I can deal with) and then the fighters flew right up to the ultragun so I couldn't hit them. The turrets were shit and didn't hit, but just wasted my money instead. The drones did no visible effect on my ship (I upgraded them to no avail) and WTF were my fighters actually trying achieve against a capital ship, asteroids and 30 fighters that I myself couldn't hit because my fighters were making them swere to much!

Gah!

On the other hand, it beats most others of it tyoe and is OK, so it will give me something to get better at..

Fun remake of a classic idea

It doesn't go very far beyond a standard defend your base game, but its well done for what it is. Overall enjoyable, and the story that develops as you play is a nice touch. Only major complaint is that it's occasionally easy to miss dialogue in the midst of trying to shoot down a wave of bombers. Adding voices could help, though it might detract from the overall 'retro' style of the game.

Nice Game

Hey.

Interesting concept of gameplay. Noting a few things now:

- Graphics detail is quite good, although they are to small. They fonts are a bit too small to read.

- It's difficult to read and play at the same time. (-:

- The shot of the main gun should move faster, because it's quite difficult to aim at things. Even firing "leading" shots is difficult, because the projectiles are too slow.

- I would change centering to the "S" key. Puts it right in between the "A" and "D" keys.

- How does repairing work? When I want to repair on demand, seems I can only do a large repair, then I only get little repairs after that (and even those aren't always available). Then, I get nailed. :-P

- Audio: Overall, pretty good. I'd add maybe two or three different sounds for some of these events, especially firing, because it gets monotonous and annoying very quickly.

Otherwise, neat game.

* salutes *

if a turret doesnt have the "repair" available, then it's either undamaged or there aren't enough resources to repair it :)

indeed, it's a bit offhand to read the story. on easy mode, the story lines come at a slower rate and are easier to read. besides, the story is synced with the (combat) events and some guys complained that the game is too slow for them...i guess the balance is hard to reach :)

Very nice

Great game, just wanted to address a couple things.

Whenever there was a development in the story, there was always something going on in the game. I couldn't concentrate on the story if I wanted to stay alive, and then I didn't get the full gaming experience.

Second thing. If you made the screen bigger, or the starship smaller, then you would have more room for combat. The enemy was always out of view, and there were only a couple of times that they were around the ship, and I could see them, and fire at them.

Otherwise, good job. It was an afternoon of fun for me.
Kudos.

Karg responds:

thanks. the fighters will come in the view if they spent too much time offscreen. if there's going to be an add-on, there'll be zooming.
