I'm not exactly good at it, but i like it, only thing that seemed off:
The smallest enemies appeared to see me through walls, dunno if that's supposed to happen

Yes you are right, enemies line of sight is based on x + y distance between the mob and you, even though you are separated to them by walls. This is not the most realistic choice, but I think that was not a bad solution for the gameplay.

The game ultimately is a skeleton, but as a phaser jam submission it's a really nice and polished skeleton. My interest fell off quickly, but I saw you say elsewhere that you're looking to expand it, so understandable.

Are the assets free/purchased? I recognized quite a few of the assets, particularly from Dungeon Cards.

The game is still a skeleton and need many improvements. I am working on it :) Community feedbacks help me a lot to take the right direction.

Seems interesting I'll try it a little more. The movement feels off and the keybindings feel a little awkward to me

As you seen it's a cell by cell movement and I removed the initial grid for a sleeker render. May be if I keep the grid by default the movement feels less weird.

Is the V & B keybindings that feel akward to you ?

This game is a fun and addicting game.
I got to memorize what kind of enemy that takes 1 hit to kill and what kind of enemy that I should avoid fighting because it takes 3 hits to kill.
But the hunger system is what ruined the fun of game.
Either remove it or make it easier to find food. Because relying too much on RNG is not fun at all

Controls could be smoother.

Also, what's the spawn rate of the food stuffs? Don't think i saw any food beyond the first level, but that might also just be my luck.

Thanks for your feedback Buzog. What do you mean about the controls ? You are talking about movements/attacks animations ?
Spawn rate of food stuff is constant for each floor.
You can see up to 3 chicken thigh per floor (25% of chance to see each of them). Also, you can see up to 2 apples (20% of chance to see each of them).
Enemies also drop food.
When you use to play (by knowing maps, enemies stats (healthPoint, attack, defense, line of sight...)), you optimize your moves and spend less food. Anyway in some case, you could be unlucky and do not find easily food/potions.
