I would like to get flash, but unfortunately I haven't got an apprenticeship yet and when I do I'll probably spend most of my piddly money on tools and wood for home.

My brother DB has created an Tau Fire Warrior sprite, unfortunately for most, neither he nor I feel like uploading it, seeing as it has no purpose as of yet. And the last thing we want is distributing it unwanted and having his hard work claimed by others. Our plans with the 40k sprites are... Scetchy. We both want to do alot with them, but both lack the time (DB's in his finals period and I'm in my last two weeks of school) and each plan or thought seems to backfire in some way.

As for flash: It is an hellish contraption and I wish I had an legion of tech adepts learning it for me.

As for some tips, try using an image or model as template, to get the proportions and size correct. Also, keep in mind that a single pose for an sprite isn't much, create the sprite in such an way that it can articulate and strike different poses.

(Below: Cadian Junior Officer with an Kantreal pattern lasgun and Armageddon pattern laspistol. The middle is an anime character with bolter and lastly an Death Watch marine, though inaccuratly coloured. I know, I know, the left shoulder pad, arm and gauntlet are supposed to be silver and the bolter red with an scope.)

Well, I have had an intresting day! I went to the comic book store and watched people play warhammer. Then, the people playing argued about the movement rules. I was looking at the Space marine models then, but I knew what was going on. Then, a pretzel almost hit me in the face. Oh well, maybe I should just stay away from those people and find somewhere else to play. This is a true story.

what pissed them off so much? just do what i do - pick highs/lows on a dice, roll it and the winner is right

Response to Warhammer 40.000 Crew 2004-06-19 01:18:20

Eh I don't think rolling highs and lows could avoid me be almost hit by a pretzel but what the heck. They are fools.

Ach, some peeps just don't know when to back off when wrong or right. Rolling an D6 for it is the best way, leave the discussions until after the game! It's quite annoying to play a game only to have to wait half an hour for some doofus to figure out whether or not he can roll that many dice for that character...

is it just me or is noone posting? anyway a few days ago i finnished converting and spriting my kroot shaper character STABY!!! ok this is what he looks like he has an unmasked kroot head 2 sholder plates(one of them has kroot ammo stuck on) he in the stab pose (where the kroot's holding a combat knife in one hand and a kroot rifle in the other) his kroot rifle has a ammo clip atached with granades hanging half way a kroot pistol on his torso pulse carbine on his back and to top it all of a spear straped to his back (from a lotr uruk high pikeman)

i feel proud.

An image would be nice though.

Anyway, I've just cleared the last day of school and I've barely survived it. But now I've got vacation, which should be good for numerous things. Including an Cadian / Witch Hunters army that's half done and needs to be battle ready by the end of the vacation.

Whats also on the shameful to do list of mine is something with involving my sprites, tearing down and rebuilding my site and getting an solid army list ready.

Anyway, please check out this link here. It's an nice promo of the Lone Wolves graphical novel.

And to keep things rolling, here's an question I've been itching to ask all along about the bases of models: Would it be cheap to just leave the base black. So you have an nicely painted model on an black base.

The thing is, I'm really bad at basing and a bad job at doing so could ruin the model's total image.

Cheers,

Lt. Brookman

I would say that models with plain bases look unfinished, you could buy a scenic base pack from the GY online store and add a bit of sand or just make a plain gravel base with sand and a few small pebbles (painted of course).
There's a recent topic on Exterminatus.net about basing, perhaps you should ask in there too.
