What is Represent A Country?

Represent a Country is an annual audio contest on Newgrounds hosted by myself. The aim of the contest is for each participant to represent a country and submit an original and entertaining piece of music. Participants who take part in the contest go on to become well known across the Audio part of Newgrounds, and make new friends along the way. The contest has not only become a celebration of world culture, but has also become a huge celebration of the audio portal artists here as well. The contest is open to anyone in the audio forum, whether it's newcomers, well known Newground artists or the contests own veteran artists.

A Country Needs You!

To take part, make sure you read the rules and grasp how the contest works, once you have decided to take part, look at the Country List and choose which country you want to represent!
Then, fill in this form!

Name Of Act:
email: (So we can alert you on upcoming deadline and/ or news, we can also contact you about your entry if we have to.)
Genre:
Song Title: (This can be declared at a later date)

Hell yeah I'll choose another country! I've never joined this because back in the days I wasn't so active in the audio community and I'm willing to take a shot now!

It's great to see you back :) I've put you down for Spain.
The contest hasn't had any other instalments since you last took part, we had a year off, now it's going to go annual! :) Good luck man!

Accepted, what do you mean by "PM" on the song title?

Also... I can't take many more people's emails as PM's. It takes a lot of time to send so many PM's out which is a lot easier to do through email. So I'll be saying no to PM's soon if many more people ask for this option.

Genre: Electronic (may change)
Song Title: TBA
Country: Australia

You may think "Electronic, Australia... how?". Well, I'm Australian and I'm sick of that crap Aussie country acoustic guitar and vocals shit that Australia gets represented for (look, some of it's alright, but you know...) so I'd like to represent Australia with something fresh and new :D

Perhaps though, depending on what I decide to write the song about, it may become a ballad, so I'm leaving the genre door open at this stage. Is that alright?

Genre doesn't matter at all, it's how you manage to represent the country using your genre that is the most important. You can still make me think of Australia without having to use Traditional Australian music. Lyrics are probably the easiest choice as it gives you more freedom and you can literally say what country you're representing through lyrics.

That being said, good luck dude, I can't wait to hear what you come up with! :)

You're in! Good Luck man!

Just a little note to everyone:

The genre you work in will not count as Representation when being Marked. Just because the genre you're working with originated or is popular in that country does not mean you can just create a song in that choice with no thought about representing the country through the music. Think a little bit more around the box. Make sure you know what it is you're actually representing.
